There is an object that we have all used thousands of times. It is simple, discreet, almost invisible — yet perfect. It is the spoon.
In the spoon lie ancient gestures, memories of home, flavors that speak without the need for words. I chose to start over from there: from the spoon as a symbol, from the spoon as a journey. In the spoon there is warmth, care, memory — it brings people back to the essence of nourishment: slow, sincere, full of soul. It speaks of a cuisine that comforts, that builds bonds, that reminds us how powerful simplicity can be when it comes from the heart; because it is often in the simplest things that the greatest wonder is found.
Today we cook, we explore and we tell stories, we bring the dishes of tradition to life with light touches of innovation.
At Zupp, the menu changes every day, at lunch and dinner. We follow the seasons and the inspiration of the moment to offer you dishes that are always fresh, genuine and prepared to order.
Soups, velvety creams and traditional recipes tell the story of a wholesome, typical cuisine, made with simple ingredients, balance and authentic flavours.
Every day is different. Every day has its own flavour.
The aperitivo at Zupp is a moment to be savoured slowly. Selected cocktails, carefully chosen wines and offerings that complement the flavours of our cuisine in a simple and authentic way.
All in a unique location: vintage furnishings carefully crafted down to the last detail, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, in the heart of Piazza San Matteo, one of Genoa’s most evocative and elegant squares, surrounded by art galleries and culture.
A place where time slows down. A place to linger.
The brunch at Zupp is one of the most loved and popular gatherings among the people of Genoa. A convivial moment, to be enjoyed without rush, with sweet and savoury offerings prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Recipes inspired by tradition, wholesome dishes and well-balanced pairings turn the late morning into an experience to share, with friends or family.
A weekend ritual. A moment that feels like home.
Zupp was born from the idea of Paolo Ferralasco, a Genoese chef who, as a child, preferred minestrone to pizza. A against-the-grain choice that over time became a vision: to place the spoon at the centre of the culinary experience and to celebrate hearty, soul-warming cuisine that tells the story of the territory.
From this intuition, a living and ever-evolving project has grown, capable of blending tradition with a contemporary outlook.
Around this vision works a close-knit and skilled staff, who share the same passion and the same attention to detail. In the kitchen and in the dining room, every person contributes to creating a welcoming, dynamic and authentic environment.
Because Zupp is not just a restaurant. It is a team, first and foremost.
